RULES

Time

Being 5 minutes late to a match after BOTH players have checked in is a game loss
Being 10 minutes late to a match after BOTH players have checked in is a match loss.
Time limit rule will apply: you have 60 minutes to finish a best of 3 match. Failure to do so will make it so that the player with higher life points at the end of that turn (if it's after turn 4) will win the duel. If it's before turn 4, comparing life points after turn 4 ends.
In swiss rounds, if game 1 or game 2 finishes after 50 minutes, match results will be decided without new games.

Duels

If it's a side deck event, then you have 5 minutes to make your changes and start playing. Taking longer than 5 minutes will result in a game loss.
If you have any problems, then contact a moderator or talk to your opponent in chat. Take screenshots for verifying and explaining what happened. We cannot help if you do not communicate proof of your issue.
Loser of previous game chooses to go first or second in game 2 or 3 after both players finish side deck and get back on the table. Player who leaves table after that will get game loss. It's the player's own responsibility to enforce the rule. Keep screenshot with time stamp as evidence if your opponent break this rule.

Spectator Rules

Your duel room MUST have AT LEAST 6 spots, leaving room for AT LEAST 1 spectator. Not leaving room for a spectator will result in a penalty.
There cannot be a 3rd person that is not a mod or the streamer in the duel room. If you have an unknown spectator, then both players will receive a penalty.
When creating rooms, turn "Room List Permissions" and "Spectate List Permissions" off, and use default settings for rest options.

Disconnection Errors and Glitches

Always record a video or take a screenshot of your glitch or disconnect and call a moderator.
Disconnection during the game will result into loss. Otherwise if disconnection occurs after coin flip and there is no replay in room, duel will restart with the winner of previous coin flip choosing first or second.

Penalties

1st offense - Warning
2nd offense - Game Lost
3rd offense- Match Lost

Extras

Your SmashGG name and your Discord name MUST be close enough for us to find you on discord if needed.
If something is wrong with SmashGG, then you are expected to use the discord to communicate with the mods for help.
Being kicked or removed from the tournament for any reason is your responsibility. This includes:
Being late
Not signing in for any reason.
Messaging any mod for any reason after the start time wondering why you're not signed up.
Not having the same SmashGG and Discord name so we kicked you because we didn't know who you were.

Maintenance

In the event the tournament does not conclude before in-game maintenance, then the event must be carried over to the next day, and you will be required to play at THE SAME TIME THE TOURNAMENT STARTED THE DAY BEFORE.

This 2 day event will be held using swiss brackets, then cut to a Top 32 or 64 single elimination playoffs (depending on number of participants), featuring Best-of-3 matches.

Visit the GGtoor Discord for ongoing updates about the event: https://discord.gg/GUhyZxFH8Q

VERY IMPORTANT: You should get the Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel role to access the #MD-1v1-event-info and #MD-chat channels of this Discord at least 30 minutes before the event begins. Stay there for the duration of the event to make sure you do not miss any important instructions from the tournament staff!

ILLEGAL DECK: Starting the game with an illegal deck will result in a game loss for the offending player. The offending player must scoop immediately once an illegal card is drawn and alert staff of the deck error. (Failure to do so will upgrade this penalty to Cheating and DQ without prize)

Each time you are paired against an opponent, you should use SmashGG chat to arrange a duel room. If you're having trouble with SmashGG chat, then use the #MD-chat on the Discord to communicate with the mods.

TARDINESS: If your opponent appears to be non-responsive after 5 minutes of BOTH players checking in or while side decking, then call a moderator on SmashGG. If you're having SmashGG issues, then use the #MD-chat on the Discord to ping a mod.

DISCONNECTS: If there is a disconnection during a match game, the disconnected player should rejoin the game as quickly as possible and keep playing the game. Otherwise, it is usually a game loss (unless in special circumstances adjudicated differently, at the sole discretion of the Tournament Staff. )

Age: To be eligible to participate, a player must be at least 13 years old (or such other age, if greater, as may be required in such player’s country of residence). Players between the ages of 13 and 17 (or such other age, if greater, as may be required in such player’s country of residence) must have written permission from a parent or legal guardian (a form will be provided which must be returned in order to complete processing your registration). IF YOU ARE UNDER 18, THE FORM CAN BE FOUND HERE: https://discordapp.com/channels/708790719015551017/761211030927441940/761211331696132116 , PLEASE CONTACT TOURNAMENT STAFF PRIOR TO THE EVENT TO HAVE THE REQUIRED PAPERWORK COMPLETED OR YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE.

IF THERE ARE GENERAL CONNECTION PROBLEMS/INTERRUPTIONS WITH THE GAME'S SERVERS, THE EVENT MAY BE SUSPENDED AND RESCHEDULED TO COMPLETE ON A FUTURE DATE.

Cheating of any kind will result in disqualification without prizes from the event, and being banned from future events. If you are in a match where you believe your opponent cheated, please send any evidence you may have to the tournament staff. This includes suspicion of invalid side decking. If this somehow happens to you unintentionally, you should immediately alert your opponent and tournament staff - if you don't, you will be deemed to have been Cheating, and you will be disqualified without prizing and banned from all future events.

OPTIONAL: We realize not every player can do this, so this is not mandatory: If you have the capability, live streaming and/or recording video of all of your matches is a good idea, to help eliminate any possibility of any dispute arising as to the results of the match.

Sportsmanlike conduct is expected. You are NOT allowed to be disruptive or harass your opponent on SmashGG, Discord, Twitch chat, etc (or any other actions that could be considered unsportsmanlike conduct except for actions intended to be allowed within the game itself as part of normal game-play.) If you do, then your actions may result in a game loss, match loss, or disqualification from the event without prizes, solely at the discretion of the Tournament Staff.

The prize is delivered via Paypal. You must have an account to be able to claim it.

Funds for Cash prize winners will be sent via PayPal, and winners will be required to provide full Legal Name and Physical Mailing Address (along with the email address associated with the PayPal account) for winnings to to be disbursed.

Note: if the event does not have at least 100 active participants, the event might be postponed to a later date.

Select matches for this event may be streamed on Twitch. Competitors playing in the event may live stream the event from their own POV as well (and are strongly encouraged to do so! Don't forget to add a small time delay so you don't get stream sniped! ) By registering for this event, you agree that we may live re-broadcast your live stream from our designated Twitch channels and cast any game-play during the course of the event, as well as create VODs of this content. Any content we make may be made available on our official Youtube channels and other platforms, so others may marvel at your awesome plays (or epic fails!)

ALL DECISIONS BY THE TOURNAMENT ADMINISTRATOR OF THIS EVENT ARE FINAL.
