DATE: Aug 31, 2022, 9 PM EDT (When the ladder resets for September)
FORMAT: In-game Ranked Ladder; First to reach the King of Games rank wins it all!
REQUIREMENTS: To be eligible, you MUST be pre-registered for the event BEFORE the new season starts, and you must join/follow certain socials when registering, including the GGtoor Discord. https://discord.gg/GUhyZxFH8Q

This Ladder Race will be for the September, 2022 season of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links Ranked Ladder. Be the first eligible (pre-registered) competitor to hit KING OF GAMES to claim the CASH prize!

Then, it's a race to see who can be the first the reach the rank KING OF GAMES for that season!

The first eligible player to provide a screenshot (and then be verified by staff) to have reached the rank will win the prize!

To be eligible to claim the prize for the season, you must sign up BEFORE the ladder resets and the season starts/at the beginning of the month.

Again, ONLY pre-registered competitors will be eligible to claim the prize - if a player reaches KOG, but that player had not properly pre-registered to this event before the season started, they are NOT eligible to claim the prize - the prize would remain available, and can only be claimed by one of the eligible players (who pre-registered for this event!)

Be sure to join the GGtoor.com discord, http://discord.ggtoor.com/ and take the role for this special event by reacting appropriately in the #get-roles channel. Then, visit the #DL-KOG-Race channel for questions/chatter/smack talk/whatever else you'd like to say related to this competition.

Procedure to Claim the prize!

A) The Potential Winner (who reached the King of Games rank) should save the replay of the last match before hitting KOG
B) Upon reaching KOG, the Potential Winner should immediately post a screen shot showing their Duel Links account name, Duelist ID, and rank in the #DL-KOG-proof channel, along with a message sharing a link to the replay of the last match before hitting KOG, along with the player's Start.GG name, to make a Claim on the prize.
C) The "Finder" (a designated Tournament Official) will review registrations to confirm the Potential Winner is eligible to claim the prize (had properly pre-registered to this event.)
D) If the Finder confirms that the player is Eligible, then the "Verifier" (a designated Tournament Official) will contact the Potential Winner immediately/as soon as possible, and invite that player to an in-game Duel Room, for the purposes of seeing/verifying the winning player's rank status (this is necessary to guard against attempts to use photoshop/fake screen shot to claim the win)
E) If more than one eligible player claims to hit KOG at around the same time, the timestamp/order of the screen shot being posted will be used to determine who the Verifier will contact first!
F) If the Potential Winner fails to respond to the Verifier (or otherwise does not join the designated Duel Room as instructed) within 5 minutes, that Potential Winner will have to wait 30 minutes, or until all other Claims have been Verified (whichever comes later,) before the Verifier will review their Claim again. (so a Potential Winner could lose to someone who posted a Claim later than they did, IF they went to the back of the line for failure to immediately respond to/follow the instructions of the Verifier.)
G) Once the Verifier is able to Verify a Claim, that player will be declared the Winner! (review of any other Claims for that season's event would cease.)

Your Duelist ID must match the account you use during our tournament. Mismatching ID's could result in disqualification.
Being declared ineligible, removed from the competition, or having your post moved to the back of the line(/processed out of order) is your responsibility. This includes:
Not registering in time/BEFORE the monthly reset
Not responding to staff timely when they are trying to Verify your Claim
Not including the required information required in your screen shot and/or in the message with your screen shot

In the event the competition does not conclude before in-game maintenance, then the event will be carried over and continue when servers come back up.

Visit the GGtoor Discord for ongoing updates about the event: https://discord.gg/GUhyZxFH8Q

VERY IMPORTANT: You should get the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links role to access the #DL-chat and related channels of this Discord at least 30 minutes before the event begins. Keep an eye on the channels for the duration of the event to make sure you do not miss any important instructions from the tournament staff!

Age: To be eligible to participate, a player must be at least 13 years old (or such other age, if greater, as may be required in such player’s country of residence.)

Cheating of any kind will result in disqualification without prizes from the event, and being banned from all future events. If you believe an opponent cheated, please send any evidence you may have to the tournament staff. In addition to Hacking, "CHEATING" ALSO INCLUDES INVALID SIDE DECKING AND USING ANY BUG OR UNINTENDED EXPLOIT THAT EXISTS IN THE GAME, intentionally or unintentionally - UNLESS Staff has made an announcement to everyone about an exception to this rule. If this somehow happens to you unintentionally, you should immediately alert your opponent and tournament staff - if you don't, you will be deemed to have been Cheating, and you will be disqualified without prizing and banned from all future events. OPTIONAL: We realize not every player can do this, so this is not mandatory: If you have the capability, live streaming and/or recording video of all of your matches is a good idea, to help eliminate any possibility of any dispute arising as to the results of the match.

Sportsmanlike conduct is expected. You are NOT allowed to be disruptive or harass your opponent on Discord, Start.gg, Twitch chat, etc (or any other actions that could be considered unsportsmanlike conduct except for actions intended to be allowed within the game itself as part of normal game-play.) If you do, then your actions may result in a game loss, match loss, or disqualification from the event without prizes, and/or ban from future events, solely at the discretion of the Tournament Staff.

Select matches for this event may be streamed on Twitch. Competitors playing in the event may live stream the event from their own POV as well (and are strongly encouraged to do so!) By registering for this event, you agree that we may live re-broadcast your live stream from our designated Twitch channels and cast any game-play during the course of the event, as well as create VODs of this content. Any content we make may be made available on our official Youtube channels and other platforms, so others may marvel at your awesome plays (or epic fails!)
