RULES

Check-In: After signing up, players will need to check-in to the tournament. Check-in begins 2 hours prior to the event's start time, and closes 15 minutes before the start of the tournament. Don’t forget to check in for each individual set during the tournament as well.

Players that fail to check in WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DROPPED and not able to participate. Please remember to convert the times listed here to your local time zone to avoid missing this deadline.

GAME RULES: Please check the event listings for the respective rules. They are similar, but slightly different. Some things to note from the rules is the lobby setup and legend/stance locking rules. The rules come from the official rulebook coming from BMG. You can find them in full form at: https://www.brawlhalla.com/online-tournament-rules/

IMPORTANT: Discord required!: We use Discord to answer any and all questions about our events, as well as to help players find their opponents.

(1) You MUST join our Discord at https://discord.gg/GUhyZxFH8Q
(2) When you do, please give yourself the Brawlhalla role by visiting the #get-roles channel.
(3) After obtaining your role, please ensure you can see the #bh-chat channel. This should be completed at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the event.

TARDINESS you must check in on smash.gg before the event, and then also for every round. If you do not check in timely to your match once the round starts, smash.gg will automatically mark you as absent for the round and issue you a match loss. There will be a check-in timer of 5 minutes between each set.

DISCONNECTS AND LAG If you or an opponent disconnects from the game or reports lag in the game within the first 30 seconds of the match, the match then may be reset. If not, then the match is to be played as normal and counted as normal. Only the singular match may be reset - not the entire set. Please realize that this is slightly different from the official BMG ruleset.

AGE REQUIREMENT (1) Players must be at least 13 years old to participate. (2) Players between 13 and 17 years old must submit a completed Parental Consent form at least 24 hours prior to the start of the event. Players under 18 can find the Parental Consent Template here: https://discord.com/channels/708790719015551017/761211030927441940/786226171864023050

PLEASE CONTACT TOURNAMENT STAFF PRIOR TO THE EVENT TO HAVE THE REQUIRED PAPERWORK COMPLETED OR YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE.

GAME MAINTENANCE If the game's servers are interrupted, we may suspend and reschedule the event to a future date.

CHEATING Cheating of any kind will result in disqualification without prizes from the event, and being banned from all future events. If you are in a match where you believe your opponent cheated, please send any evidence you may have to the tournament staff. In addition to Hacking, "CHEATING" ALSO INCLUDES USING ANY BUG OR UNINTENDED EXPLOIT THAT EXISTS IN THE GAME, intentionally or unintentionally - UNLESS Staff has made an announcement to everyone about an exception to this rule. If this somehow happens to you unintentionally, you should immediately alert your opponent and tournament staff - if you don't, you will be deemed to have been Cheating, and you will be disqualified without prizing and banned from all future events.

Cheating includes using 3rd party applications and mods which provide a competitive advantage to the user (such as a skin mod which give the player extra information).

CONDUCT: Sportsmanlike conduct is expected. You are NOT allowed to be disruptive or grief your opponent in Real Life, such as in any Discord or Twitch chat (or any other actions that could be considered unsportsmanlike conduct except for actions intended to be allowed within the game itself as part of normal game-play.) If you do, your actions may result in a game loss, match loss, or disqualification from the event without prizes, solely at the discretion of the Tournament Staff.

RECORDING (OPTIONAL): We realize not every player can do this, so this is not mandatory: If you have the capability, live streaming and/or recording video of all of your matches is a good idea, to help eliminate any possibility of any dispute arising as to performance in a given match. We can, however, review game replay files if need be.

STREAMING Select matches for this event may be streamed on one of our designated Official Twitch channels. Competitors playing in the event may live stream the event from their own POV as well (and are strongly encouraged to do so-if you do, please add "#GGtoor" to the title and don't forget a time delay so no one can stream snipe you!) By registering for this event, you agree that we may live re-broadcast your live stream from our designated Twitch channels and commentate any game-play during the course of the event, as well as create VODs of this Content, which we may choose to make available on our official Youtube channels and other platforms, so others may marvel at your awesome plays (or epic fails!)

ALL DECISIONS BY THE TOURNAMENT ADMINISTRATOR OF THIS EVENT ARE FINAL.

Terminology A “game” is defined as the instance of combat where the outcome is determined by a team/player losing all their stocks. A “set” is defined as the best-of-3 or best-of-5 games that is played until a team/player has won a majority of the set. (Multiple sets are only played in the case of the lower seed team/player winning a set in the Grand Finals.) A “match” is defined as the set or collection of sets wherein a team/player has officially lost and the winning team/player advances to the next round of the Tournament. General A team/player may not forfeit a match. Forfeiting a match will result in punitive measures to be determined by Tournament Administration, including the loss of any prizes that team/player may have otherwise been entitled to. If a team/player fails to show up for a match they were scheduled for, they will be subject to punitive measures to be determined by Tournament Administration, including the loss of any prize money that team/player may have otherwise been entitled to. If a team is otherwise disqualified for any reason, they will be subject to punitive measures to be determined by Tournament Administration, including the loss of any prize money that team/player may have otherwise been entitled to. Players competing in the Brawlhalla Circuit are not allowed to play on another player's Steam account for any reason. Top 8, promotion matches into Top 8, and Top 32 Winners side matches are all best-of-5. All other matches are best-of-3. The lower seed team may then choose from the remaining three stages by striking two. After 5 minutes, it is up to the discretion of Tournament Administration whether or not the offending team/player will forfeit their match or if additional time will be given for the team/player to correct their issue. If the game has loaded and begun and a player has an unforeseen issue preventing them from competing in the game within the first 10 seconds of the game, they may suicide 3 times to prematurely terminate the game and correct their issue. If any player is found using any cheat during competitive play, all games that were affected will be subject to forfeiture and other potential penalties. Intentionally losing a game, collusion, or any other action of a similar or reprehensible nature will not be tolerated. Each player must use their best efforts to compete in a sportsmanlike manner at all times. Tournament Administration has the right to deem any name, tag, or clan name inappropriate. If any name or tag (including clans) is flagged as inappropriate, teams or players may be denied registration, disqualified, or required to change it appropriately in order to continue. Additional content may be required out of players by Tournament Administration, which all players must make themselves available throughout the entire duration of the tournament for. Rules Disclaimer All rules are subject to a Tournament Administrator’s interpretation. BMG reserves the right to modify, add, or delete rules at any time, without prior notice and/or reason. Unless otherwise stated, all decisions made by an Administrator pursuant to these rules are final and binding upon all applicable parties. If you do not agree with all of the rules and stipulations listed above, you may not participate in Brawlhalla Esports. By requesting entry into the Tournament, you represent and warrant to BMG that you have read, understand, and agree to these rules and stipulations, and promise to act in compliance with such rules and stipulations at all times.
